Besides having a personal relationship with Mr. Jameson and cigars (wink), I write a screenplay for this competition every year. Five years running, now.
While not the demographical screenwriter/director Trigger Street seeks for the competition, I write and enter anyway knowing full well my screenplays will not be chosen. I write because I enjoy a challenge away from the day-to-day challenges of being an independent producer.
“Write the screenplay you want to see.”– Stanley B. Gill
I love the challenge of a new veteran actor being attached to the project every year and exploring their talents, to integrate into a story created out of whole cloth.
Kevin Spacey, Willem Dafoe, Uma Thurman, Adrien Brody and this year’s Maggie Gyllenhaal have all spent their creative talents on this project. What is exciting is seeing these talented actors in short films tackling small roles with great depth.
Jameson First Shot 2017
Well, this November will inspire me once again to write another story as Jameson First Shot usually announces the competition launch towards the end of the year. It will be exciting waiting for Trigger Street to announce the new actor attached to the project.
If you want to read the past screenplays I have written for the Jameson First Shot competition, head on over to StanleyBGill.com and scroll down for the short screenplays.
I liked “The New Empress.”
If you are an aspiring screenwriter, you should enter the competition as they only require seven page screenplays. Better be a good seven pages.
